G&W Contracts was engaged to deliver a critical power resilience project for a multi-national client, serving as the Principal Contractor and Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage (PSCS). The initiative focused on installing a fault-tolerant central Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system to protect the client's essential data and security infrastructure from power disruptions, guaranteeing business continuity.
The core scope involved the strategic installation and configuration of two 20KVA central UPS units, supported by two standalone battery housing modules, within the facility's main electrical switch room. This new system was seamlessly integrated into the client's network to provide a clean, continuous power source to four IDF cabinets across the warehouse floor, the dedicated IDF room, and the central MDF room. The project also included safeguarding the supporting infrastructure, ensuring backup power was supplied to critical environmental controls, including the AC units vital for maintaining optimal conditions in the IDF and MDF spaces.
All associated builder work, from structural supports to cable management, was executed to the highest standard. The project incorporated comprehensive fire-stopping and compartmentalisation measures at all penetration points to preserve the building's integrity. Completed within a live logistical environment, the project underscored our ability to deploy complex, mission-critical systems without interrupting the client's core supply chain operations.
